Living The Grind
Updated: Jun 4, 2018
Everybody wants success and or to enjoy the luxuries in life but only a few will ever fulfill the desire to do so. Success seems so simple when you hear from someone who represents success to you say “The key to being successful is doing what makes you happy, being financially free and knowing your purpose”. There is just one thing that most top leaders and entrepreneurs forget to mention and that’s LIVING THE GRIND!
So what does LIVING THE GRIND actually mean? I’m glad you asked.LIVING THE GRIND can be put in many ways. Some will call it sacrificing, delaying gratification, staying on your path, and keeping focused etc. However it is translated to you, LIVING THE GRIND is merely doing certain things over and over again until you master them.
It’s a fact that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become a master at something. I know this is true being that dance is a talent I was blessed with and many would watch me dance and hold a look of excitement on their face. I always hear “OMG you are such an amazing dancer” or “How is it that you move so incredible the way you do?” The answer is always the same, PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. I’ve been dancing and perfecting my craft for more than 15 years.
So this goes to say that an individual labeled as successful is qualified for such a title only because he/she has mastered a specific area in his/her life. There are eight categories for total success that many also call the wheel of life, which follows:
Health & Wellbeing
Love & Relationship
Mental & Emotional Development
Career & Money
Friends & Family
The ultimate successful person aims to score between 8-10 on a scale from 1-10 in these areas. Take each category from the wheel of life and give yourself an honest score on where you are in certain areas in your life today. Doing this exercise alone will move you forward in life tremendously. Now back to LIVING THE GRIND!!! When you begin to implement certain fundamentals in your life to become a master of yourself, I kid you not that you’ll stumble upon times where you feel like sh*t begins to get boring. When you get to this point you must focus on your dream and the reason why you began to implement these things in your life. ALWAYS do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done.
There is no elevator to success you must take the stairs.
Reminder: Don’t Allow Fear To Be The Director of Your Life
